Janire Clavell joined the TU Berlin’s Chair of Innovation Economics as a researcher on May the 8th, 2017. She is working on two different projects regarding the competitiveness of bio-based economy.
She holds a Bachelor degree in Electronical Engineering and has completed two master degrees: one in Industrial Engineering and another one in Environmental Engineering.
Her previous work experience includes more than two years as a project engineer in two different consultancies in Bilbao (Spain) in the fields of nanomaterials and green ITs. Thereafter, she obtained a scholarship to work as a researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration in Berlin within the Department for Environmental & Reliability Engineering. She was involved in a project on life cycle assessment (LCA) and its use in the European SMEs and she was the lecturer of two seminars at the University of Deusto (Bilbao) for the students of the “Environmental Engineering and CleanTech” Master Program and for the Basque SMEs of the electronic sector. Until 2014, she had a research scholarship at the Collaborative Research Centre ‘Sustainable Manufacturing’ at the TU Berlin. During this period, she accomplished material and energy flow analyses, LCAs and experimental work in the laboratory. Finally, until April 2017 she worked as a researcher in the areas of critical raw materials and sustainable buildings at the Institute for Futures Studies and Technology Assessment in Berlin.
Currently, besides working with us, Janire Clavell is also lecturer of the Seminar “Ecodesign Implementation and Management” within the Master Program “Global Production Engineering” at the TU Berlin.
